Courage and
reconciliation

In 1975, Bolesław Kałuża became pastor of the St. Anne Parish in Grodziszcze. The village of Krzyżowa also belongs to the same parish. Kałuża, brought up in Upper Silesia, was interested in the history of his parish as well as the history before 1945. He was a contact person for German visitors for many years. Former inhabitants of the village came to visit or people who had come to Lower Silesia to learn more about the General Field Marshal Helmuth von Moltke and the Kreisau Circle. In November 1989, he was the host and concelebrant of the mass of reconciliation. His rectory served as the centre for the preparations for this special mass. In 2005, Pastor Kaluża died.
In 2016, the cartoon “Pastor Bolesław Kałuża: We shall not forget this mass” was produced by the Krzyżowa Foundation.
